It is with great pleasure to see that several major HAM VENTIONS have been organized since the beginning of this year and are finally taking place with the overall lifting of Covid 19 restrictions. In February of this year the HAMCATION in Orlando (FL – USA) was a great success and in less then 9 weeks (20 – 22 May) the largest HAMVENTION in the world will start again in Dayton (OH – USA).
For me personally it would be a dream to visit both or at least one of those great Ham ventions. So they are definitely on the bucket list and hopefully my dream will come true next year as this year the YL wanted a holiday after being locked up for over 2 years due to Covid 19. So we are going in the month of June for a well deserved holiday of 3 weeks to Bali (Indonesia). So you can imagine that we are really looking forward to our holiday.
But as the headline of this post reveals, I’m back in time to visit Europe’s largest Hamvention in Friedrichshafen on 23-25 June (Germany). I am therefore looking forward to the event where new technology, major vendors and Radio Clubs & Organizations will be represented. But besides all this, I’m also looking forward to the different Eyeball QSOs we’re going to have with all our HAM friends within our HAM Community.
So if you have a chance to visit any of the mentioned Ham ventions I would say have fun as we should all be happy that these events are being organized for our small HAM community versus the world population.
